Continuing Education Requirements
As of January 1, 2013, the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) credentials have changed. National Certification has now been retired and replaced with the new credential called Board Certification.
Requirements to be NCBTMB Board Certified
To meet the educational requirements to become Board Certified, you must obtain 750 hours of total education. If you are currently Nationally Certified and you already have 750 hours, no additional hours are required at this time. If you do not have the minimum 750 hours of education, you will need to obtain the extra hours necessary to reach the 750 hours, of which you can obtain up to 250+ hours with our aromatherapy certification programs!

If You are Already NCBTMB Board Certified:
It is our current understanding that for Board Certification renewal the NCBTMB requires massage therapists to complete 24 CE hours every 2 years. Of the 24 CE hours, 3 CE hours must be in research and 3 CE hours must be in ethics. Only 4 CE hours can be in self-care.

Master Aromatherapy (Debbie Gordon, instructor) is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#1000472). All of our continuing education programs can be used for Board Certification renewal.
You will want to verify and check to see if you can use our credits for other organizations you may belong to, such as the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or Associated Bodywork Massage Professionals (ABMP). We are a member of the ABMP as well.
